If the Event Organizer is allowing refunds, we’d refund the person who purchased the tickets directly from Ticketmaster. If your ticket was transferred to you, then you didn’t purchase them directly from Ticketmaster.
Transferred tickets will show a $0.00 total on your Ticketmaster receipt because Ticketmaster did not charge you for the transfer.
Where should you request a refund?
If you purchased a resale ticket from some other source (i.e., not through the Ticketmaster site), and that ticket was then transferred to you, you’ll need to reach out to your original point of purchase for any available refund options.
Your original point of purchase is the person or third-party seller, such as SeatGeek, you got the tickets from, and it may be different from the sender or original purchaser.
This also applies if a ticket you bought from a third-party seller is voided.
Please see our Ticket Transfer Recipient Policy for more information.
How can you identify the original point of purchase?
Check your purchase confirmation or your bank or credit card statement, including the phone number beside the charge. If it’s still unclear, ask your bank or credit card company to identify the payment recipient.
When should you transfer tickets back?
For general refund options, contact your original point of purchase. You can ask about refund options and if you must transfer the tickets back.
